E-Government
The passing of the E-Government Act in 2013 removed all remaining legal and administrative barriers to simplifying electronic communication with and within public administration. E-Government serves the digitalization of processes between administration and citizen, between authorities and companies, or among the various administrative branches by means of information and communication technology.
The data should run, not the citizen
The responsibilities of public administration are diverse and for the most part regulated by laws and directives. E-Government fundamentally changes the way public offices can provide their services. Modern E-Government solutions offer clear and measurable advantages for administrative branches and their employees as well as for citizens and companies. They are a chance to make administration easier, faster, more efficient, more effective, more economical, and most of all more citizen-friendly. In short: “The data should run, not the citizens”.
Taking successful E-Government into the future
E-Government is already a reality and part of our daily lives. It affects all public institutions, companies, and citizens. Its goal is unlimited and barrier-free information flow across departmental lines but within the framework of data protection and data security. This increases efficiency at the federal, state, and local level. Processes, data, and people are brought together.
To achieve this goal, user-friendly and efficient administrative services are created and provided to citizens, authorities, and enterprises. Digitalization of processes or procedures enables public administration to keep pace with the information age and provide citizens, companies, and other administrative branches with more modern services.
The crucial aspect in this is to not translate manual processes 1:1 into software, but to question the processes themselves. With this ultimate goal in mind, the processes of the individual procedures are optimized first, only then are they translated into the software.
